Hurricane Electric's Los Angeles Sequel
Fremont, California - July 11, 2005 - Hurricane Electric, a leading Technical Service Provider, announced that it has added a second Internet Exchange Point in Los Angeles, CA to its growing global network. In addition to its long held Equinix Los Angeles exchange port, Hurricane Electric is now also connected to LAIIX, a neutral and scalable peering infrastructure located in Telehouse Los Angeles.

The Gigabit Ethernet port that Hurricane Electric now employs to the LAIIX switch will enhance its overall connectivity on the U.S. West coast and improve its Global OC48 backbone, ranked among the top in the world. The newly added exchange point will create additional redundancies to Hurricane Electric's global network and ensure shorter packet routes to numerous other networks. It will also give Hurricane Electric the ability to peer with numerous additional networks, institutions and companies throughout the West coast.

"This is an exciting time for Hurricane Electric and our customers," said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president. "We have a new colocation facility opening in a few months and we are actively adding and upgrading exchange points to give us better performance over our entire network." With the addition of the LAIIX exchange point, Hurricane Electric has enhanced its self- healing network architecture, which now includes twelve major exchange points around the world.

To celebrate, Hurricane Electric is extending a special offer of flat rate Gigabit Ethernet transit (1,000 Mbps of IP) for $13,000 per month. This special offer is available at Telehouse (LAIIX) in Los Angeles, CA and nine other locations in the United States: Switch and Data (PAIX) in Palo Alto, CA; Equinix in Ashburn, VA; Equinix in Chicago, IL; Equinix in Dallas, TX; Equinix in Los Angeles, CA; Equinix in San Jose, CA; Telehouse (NYIIX) in New York, NY; Hurricane Electric in San Jose, CA; and Hurricane Electric in Fremont, CA.
