Hurricane Electric and NIX.CZ Partner to Launch IPv6 Certification Program in Czech
Popular IPv6 certification program will now be accessible to Czech speaking audience

Prague - November 21, 2011 - Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone and colocation provider today announced that it is partnering with NIX.CZ, the Czech Republic’s largest Internet exchange, to provide its popular IPv6 certification program in the Czech language.

The new certification offering will feature content identical to Hurricane Electric’s existing programs. The programs are self-paced and certify level of mastery (from “Newbie” to “Sage”) of real-world IPv6 concepts and deployment techniques.

“Hurricane Electric is excited to expand its certification program to the Czech speaking audience,” said Andy Davidson, Director of European Operations at Hurricane Electric. “By partnering with NIX.CZ, Hurricane Electric will be able to accelerate its certification program and build up a pool of certified talents who are able to overcome the IPv4 address exhaustion issue and pave the way for widespread IPv6 adoption.”

With the IPv6 certification, individuals and businesses will be able to meet the international standards and compliance for IPv6 deployment. The IPv6 protocol is designed to replace IPv4, the Internet protocol currently in use since the late 1970s. The IPv6 program will certify any professional to configure and validate IPv6 servers and equipment, allowing them to benefit from IPv6 connectivity, added security and protection, as well as greater performance.

In addition to unveiling the new certification, Mr. Davidson will discuss the state of IPv6 at the 15th NIX.CZ Anniversary, taking place today. “In the past 15 years, we have grown from an Internet of 36 million users to an Internet of 2 billion users,” said Andy Davidson.  “IPv6 is more than ten years old and has been proven to be reliable and stable. The IPv6 protocol provides distinct, globally-routable addresses for all devices connected to the Internet and also simplifies certain network configuration tasks”

The new program offering comes two months after Hurricane Electric and the Internet Society Hong Kong announced Asia’s first IPv6 certification program for the Chinese speaking market.
